Santa Maria Square

It is located in front of and next to the Igreja Matriz de Santa Maria, the main church in the town.

During the 16th century, Largo de Santa Maria was expanded through the demolition of pre-existing buildings, with the square finally being built by order of Queen Catherine of Austria.
