Rua Direita
Back to all places
Known by this name in the 19th century. XIV, connects the town gate to the Mayor’s Palace. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Rua Direita underwent important transformations, with some of the old Gothic portals of the houses being hidden. Its name possibly comes from Archaic Portuguese, from the word “direct” meaning the quickest connection to the Castle.
