Postigo de baixo

During the rein of D. Fernando, Óbidos castle underwent major upgrades, including the extension of the wall to the size we can see today, which forced the rethink the relation of the village with its outskirts. Two small openings, Postigo de Baixo e Postigo do Campo da Bola where created to ease the communication with the outside of the walls and, at the same time, Porta da Vila, the main door used today.
